Apple pie may be American, but it can be pretttttty unhealthy when you really think about it. Fortunately, there’s a way to make this American classic a little healthier on the road while still tasting delicious! This recipe for truckers is made with apples, graham crackers, and a dash of honey for that all-American taste without the all-American calorie count.
Recipes for Truckers — How to Make Healthy Apple Pie
Chop one apple and put into a bowl. Add a crushed graham cracker, and squeeze the juice from half a lemon over top. Add a drizzle of honey and a little cinnamon to taste. Mix everything up, and microwave for 2 minutes or until warm. This apple pie makeover rings in at a healthier 200 calories, 1.5 grams of protein, and 2 grams of fat. Not a bad makeover for the traditional, sinful apple pie!
