Video: 4-Step Cardio Workouts for Truck Drivers

We know that cardio is an important part of the fitness puzzle. Think you can’t get any cardio in on the road? Think again.

Cardio workouts for truck drivers don’t have to be limited to walking/running around the truck stop. Anything that gets the heart rate up high counts as a cardio workout!

Separately, you might think, “How does that constitute a cardio workout?”

But when you combine these four exercises into a circuit, trust us when we say, you’ll be feeling it. Try to work your way up to 10 of each exercise before progressing to the next part of the circuit. Here’s how to do this cardio circuit:

Push-ups: Pretty straight-forward – begin with a basic push-up. You could also substitute assisted push-ups on your knees.

Crunches: Next up – crunches. Place your hands behind your head and crunch up at the abs. Make sure you’re not pulling your head up with your hands. You want to be using your ab muscles to get yourself up, not your arms.

Mountain Climbers: Get into position like you’re about to do push ups. Bring your right knee up towards your right hand and return to original position. Repeat on the other side. Do these as fast as you’re able.

Burpees: Return to push up position. Do one push-up down, then jump up towards the sky, extending your arms straight up.

Do 10 reps of each of these exercise before moving onto the next. Do 2-3 sets for a great cardio workout on the road.
