St Christopher Fund Kicks Off Band Together Campaign for Truckers

St. Christopher fundThe St Christopher Fund is excited to announce that TravelCenters of America LLC, operator of the TA® and Petro Stopping Centers® travel center brands, today launched its annual Band Together Campaign. The campaign will run at all TA and Petro locations from Aug. 22 – Sept. 30, 2013.

During the event, guests and employees at TA and Petro Stopping Centers will be invited to make donations of $1 or more. Commemorative 2013 wristbands will be given to everyone choosing to donate. Donations may be made at all company restaurants, travel stores, fuel buildings and truck service facilities. One hundred percent of all donations will go to the SCF.

The TA and Petro annual campaign contributions mark the largest single donations the Fund receives each year.

As of July 31, 2013, the SCF has helped 806 truck drivers and their families with monthly bills, including utilities and mortgages.  The majority of applicants have suffered from cardiology (heart), oncology (cancer), and pulmonary (lung) issues, followed closely by diabetes.  We have seen a recent increase in cancer cases; so far in August, more than half of applicants are suffering from various forms of cancer.

Professional drivers who are suffering from financial hardship due to medical problems can apply to the SCF for assistance at www.truckersfund.org, by calling 865-202-9428, or emailing contact@truckersfund.org.
