No matter how good we are about being healthy on the road, sometimes the hankering for a sweet snack just overpowers us. Fortunately, there are some relatively healthy snacks you can make on the road to satisfy that sweet tooth without sacrificing your healthy diet.
Today, we’re featuring a simple recipe for peanut butter banana quesadillas. These are great for the road as they don’t require many ingredients at all, yet still make for a tasty treat!
Watch the video below to learn how to make a peanut butter quesadilla.
- 1-2 whole wheat tortilla shells
- 1 banana
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- George Foreman grill or toaster oven (optional)
Mash the banana into a bowl. Mix one tablespoon of peanut butter together with the mashed banana. Spread the banana-butter mixture onto a whole wheat tortilla, and put on the grill until those nice grill marks appear!
One thing to note: you don’t have to mash everything together. You could always take the old school peanut-butter-and-banana-sandwich route by spreading the PB on the tortilla shell and put sliced banana on top. Whichever you prefer.
Add some chocolate chips if you wish — though obviously, this makes the snack a little less healthy. 🙂
