Healthy Breakfast Options for Truck Drivers – Week 5 Check-In

Hi, all!

Well, I got sick with a bad cold this past week and while I felt like my diet (I use that term loosely) was not too far off, my workouts were almost non-existent. I just felt like sleep was more important.

So I weighed in…still the same, 3 weeks in a row 🙁 I’m glad I didn’t gain, but this is becoming very frustrating. I had given myself a goal of being under 200 by the end of October, but it obviously didn’t happen. I’m trudging on, though, and I know it’s going to pay off — hopefully soon.

Two sets of dumbbells, one 3-lb and one 5-lb setI got myself some new dumbbells, the 5-pounders, and am already thinking about going higher. I’ve been reading a lot lately about how important strength training is for women, and am looking for some direction. Any suggestions?

Close up of Flying J Steel Cut OatmealSome truck driver meal tips for you – the Flying J truck stops have come out with a new healthy Breakfast Bar, which changes to a Soup Bar after breakfast. They have steel cut oatmeal that is really yummy – I love oatmeal! They also have a small selection of healthy cold foods like salads (need to lose the black olives), fruit, and Greek yogurt.

About Tammy Croce

Hi! My name is Tammy, and I'm an over the road truck driver. My husband and I started team driving in January of 2006. We took a year off from July 2011 to July 2012, and have only recently gotten back into driving. I've battled with my weight my entire life. When I got back into driving, I gained some weight because I didn't make good food choices or set aside the time to exercise. But I've decided to change my ways, and this is my journey to becoming healthier through diet and exercise. I hope you'll join me for the ride!
