Easy Hummus Recipe for Truck Drivers

Today’s healthy recipe is a great protein-laden snack that’s low in calories while still being tasty. It’s homemade hummus! 

Hummus has grown in popularity over the last few years and with good reason — it’s full of flavor but also contains several nutrients and is a relatively low-calorie snack for the road. You can find pre-packaged hummus at most grocery stores, but in my experience it’s usually pretty pricey. So if you’re trying to save a little money on the road while still having tasty snack options, check out our homemade hummus recipe below.

Ingredients:

  • Sundried tomatoes
  • Roasted red bell pepper
  • 1 can chickpeas
  • Worchestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Chives

Directions:

Dump everything into your travel blender and mix, mix, mix. That’s it! That’s really all there is to it.

You can eat hummus with a variety of snack foods that are all easy to store on the truck. For instance, you can use it as a spread on sandwiches or dip veggies or whole wheat crackers in it. Get creative — part of being healthy on the road is finding new ways to use healthier snack options.
